Net bag weighing and packing line with elevator, combination weigher and net bag machine

Net bag packing

Automatic Net Bag Weighing and Packing Line

A fixed-weight net bag packing line: an inclined elevator feeds a 14-head combination weigher, and the inclined-tube net bag machine bags each weighed portion with automatic net change and a clipped tag — 0.45–5 kg bags at 10–15 bags per minute.

Solution overview

Move from loose produce to weighed, tagged net bags.

The line joins the three stages net bag packing needs to run automatically: an inclined elevator and belt feeder present product to a 14-head combination weigher, and the weighed portion drops straight into the inclined-tube net bag machine, which forms, clips and tags each bag without an operator weighing by hand.

The weigher feeds with belts instead of vibration pans — gentler and more accurate for light, bulky produce such as potatoes, onions, citrus and tomatoes — while the net bag machine's double hoppers alternate so net rolls can be changed without stopping the line.

Process flow

Each stage has a clear job in the line.

Feeding the Line

Elevate and Feed

The climbing elevator lifts product on a food-grade PP net chain with cleats — speed is variable from 0 to 20 m/min — and the belt feeding conveyor presents an even, single-layer flow to the weigher.

Fixed-weight Portioning

Combine and Weigh

Fourteen 5 L hoppers compose every portion to the target weight — 100–3,000 g per hopper drop, up to 50 dumps per minute. Belt feeding replaces vibration pans, so light, bulky produce is handled gently and weighed accurately.

Bagging and Tagging

Bag and Tag

The inclined-tube net bag machine takes each weighed portion into a 380–400 mm net roll, clips the bag and — with the optional label clip — inserts the tag automatically. Double hoppers alternate, so net rolls change without stopping, at 10–15 bags per minute.

Finished-bag Handling

Convey and Collect

Finished bags drop to the belt conveyor at up to 12 m/min and gather in the collection tray, where they are counted and taken to case packing — one operator oversees the whole line.

FAQ

Key questions before line planning

What products suit this line?

Solid produce in net bags: potatoes, onions, citrus and tomatoes are the reference applications, and other solid materials pack the same way — firm items that flow on a cleated elevator and drop cleanly into a net bag.

What weight can each bag hold?

0.45–5 kg per bag. The target is set from the control panel and the 14-head weigher composes every portion to it, so bag weights stay consistent without manual weighing.

How fast does the line pack?

The net bag machine outputs 10–15 bags per minute, fed by a weigher rated up to 50 dumps per minute — the combination keeps the bagger supplied without starving.

Can the net bag machine run without the weigher?

It can, but every bag would need weighing by hand first. The elevator, weigher and bagger as one line are what make net bag packing fully automatic at a fixed weight — the usual reason customers buy the complete system.
