Pumpkin sorting machineSorting equipment
Pumpkin Weight Sorting Machine
A checkweighing weight sorter for pumpkin, squash and butternut: each fruit is weighed individually and diverted into one of five weight grades at 60 pieces per minute, replacing hand grading with consistent, repeatable sizing.
Applications
- Pumpkin, squash and butternut grading by weight
- Farm packing stations and packhouses
- Fresh produce wholesale sizing
- Pre-sorting before boxing, palletising or processing
Features
- 60 pieces/minSingle-piece weighing and diversion at up to 60 pumpkins per minute, replacing manual sizing on a grading table.
- 5 grade outletsFive diversion outlets as standard (expandable), each set to a weight band so every pack carries uniform sizes.
- ±2–5 g accuracyA 0.01 g display resolution with ±2–5 g sorting accuracy across the target output, giving repeatable grade boundaries.
- Handles up to 2 kgProducts up to 300 × 200 mm and 2 kg, which covers butternut, acorn and most commercial squash varieties.
- 100 stored recipesWeight-grade setups are stored as recipes, so switching between product varieties or seasonal size ranges takes seconds.
- Three-stage designInfeed and buffer, weighing, then sorting — the buffer section spaces fruit out so exactly one piece sits on the 500 × 300 mm weighing section at a time.

Working Process
Infeed and buffer
Fruit is loaded onto the first section, where the buffer spacing separates pieces so they enter the weighing section one at a time rather than in a cluster.
Weigh each piece
The 500 × 300 mm weighing section measures each fruit on its own; the weight is compared against the grade bands held in the current recipe.
Assign the grade
The control system decides which weight grade the piece belongs to and sends the command to the corresponding diversion outlet.
Divert to outlet
The sorting section actuates the matching outlet, sending the fruit into its weight-grade lane for boxing or further packing.

FAQ
What can it sort besides pumpkin?
The machine grades any firm product within 300 × 200 mm and 2 kg — squash, butternut, and similar whole produce. Weight bands are stored as recipes so one machine can serve several varieties across the season.
How accurate is the weight grading?
Sorting accuracy is ±2–5 g with a 0.01 g display resolution. The band you can hold depends on how fast the line runs and how uniform the incoming fruit is; we set the grade boundaries around your actual pack spec.
How many grades can it separate?
Five outlets as standard, and the count is customizable. Each outlet is assigned a weight band, so five grades means five size classes leaving the machine in parallel.
Does it need compressed air?
Yes — the diversion mechanism is pneumatic and needs 5–7 kgf/cm². Confirm the air supply is available at the installation point when planning the packhouse layout.
Can it connect to our existing line?
The infeed works left to right at a 800 mm + 60 mm belt height. Share your upstream and downstream equipment heights and we will confirm the connection arrangement before quotation.
