Modified Atmosphere Packaging Machine

A tray sealing MAP machine for supermarket fresh food: it replaces the air in each sealed tray with a precise oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen mixture — at least 99% gas replacement and ±1% mixing accuracy — sealing freshness into packaged meat and produce, three trays every 7 seconds.

Applications

  • Supermarket fresh meat and poultry in sealed trays
  • Fresh-cut vegetables and salad trays
  • Ready meals and fresh food needing longer shelf life
  • Tray sealing with oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen mixtures

Features

  • ≥99% gas replacementA patented airflow replacement runs in a fully sealed chamber — the tray's original air is displaced before the fresh mixture enters, so the programmed gas ratio is what the food actually sits in.
  • ±1% mixing accuracyThe gas mixer holds its proportion regardless of supply-pressure swings, and every pack in a batch stays within 1% of the target mixture — consistent shelf life across the batch.
  • 3 trays per 7 s cycleThe mold carries three trays per cycle at 8–9 cycles per minute, matched to supermarket fresh-food throughput.
  • Custom tray molds, tool-free changeSealing molds are made to your actual tray sample — up to 260 × 180 × 80 mm — and swap over without tools when tray formats change.
  • Food-grade, brand-name build304 stainless steel body, anodized aluminum parts and a Teflon sealing plate, with Omron and Panasonic sensors, AirTac cylinders and a touch-screen PLC control.
  • Monitored operationReal-time fault alerts, gas pressure alarm, pump-drain reminder and a pack counter keep the line running and traceable.

Working Process

  1. Load trays

Three filled trays sit in the mold — the mold is custom-made to your tray sample, so positioning repeats exactly every cycle.

  2. Replace the air

Inside the fully sealed chamber, the airflow system displaces the tray air — replacement reaches at least 99% before any fresh gas enters.

  3. Fill the mixture

The mixer doses oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen to the programmed ratio, accurate to ±1% and stable against supply-pressure changes.

  4. Seal and discharge

The Teflon sealing plate closes the film with a clear, complete seal pattern; sealed trays discharge ready for weighing, labeling and the 0–4°C cold chain.

FAQ

What gases does MAP use, and why?

Oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen mixed to a ratio programmed for the food — carbon dioxide suppresses bacteria and fungi, while the oxygen and nitrogen balance preserves color and texture, so the mix is set per product.

How precise is the gas control?

Gas replacement is at least 99% of tray volume, mixing accuracy is ±1%, and every pack in a batch stays within 1% of the target mixture — the consistency that keeps shelf life predictable.

What tray sizes can it seal?

Sealing molds are custom-made to your actual tray sample, up to 260 × 180 × 80 mm, three trays per cycle; molds change over without tools when formats change.

Does MAP replace refrigeration?

No — the two work together. Recommended storage after sealing is 0–4°C: cold slows microbial growth and strengthens the carbon dioxide effect, while the sealed atmosphere holds the mix.
